As we look ahead, we’re at an exciting and pivotal moment: we need the next generation of kaitiaki to help shape what comes next.
Whether you are a regular volunteer on the hills or simply care about protecting native bush in Island Bay, you are warmly invited to the Manawa Karioi Society AGM.

Winter Working Bee at Manawa Karioi
Kia ora from Ignite Consultants Wellington!
Based out of Victoria University of Wellington, we provide pro bono strategic support to grassroots community projects. This trimester, we teamed up with the Manawa Karioi Society to tackle two vital challenges: safeguarding the decades of planting and weed-management knowledge, media and comms currently held by a handful of people, and building clear pathways to recruit young kaitiaki to the Komiti.
Hear our findings at the AGM on Sunday, 11 October (1:30 pm at the Home of Compassion). We’ll present practical recommendations. Come along, hear our ideas, and help shape the next chapter of Manawa Karioi!
